19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback Medvedev claimed his first championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.
The athlete, a former world number one, has had a difficult year, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the US Open.
His varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in specific - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with long-term coach his previous coach.
Now training with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested three-set win over challenger Moutet.
This marks his initial trophy since the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court from spring of 2023.
Victory also means he has achieved 21 championships at 21 various tournaments.
"For the first time I'm at a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is really nice," commented tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my child Victoria, because the first title I got when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his previous six finals, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.
His defensive approach and recurring emotional displays on court had caused observers to doubt if his ability to perform at the top level was over.
Yet the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and play assertively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, winning four of the last five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair swapped breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial professional title, gained dominance to create a decider.
He rescued four early chances in a close final set before Medvedev broke to 15 to secure the win.
Appropriately, he earned the title with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
