Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.
A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.
Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
